Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Tuesday strongly condemned the expansion of the ‘Israeli’ army’s ground operation in Gaza and the intensification of airstrikes on the enclave, calling it a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sufian Al-Majali reaffirmed the Kingdom’s absolute rejection of the “brutal Israeli aggression,” stressing that the ground expansion constitutes a clear violation of international law and UN resolutions.

He said that the offensive is forcibly displacing Palestinians from their land as part of systematic ‘Israeli’ crimes targeting civilians, hospitals, journalists, medical teams, and vital infrastructure in Gaza, while using siege and starvation as weapons of war.

Al-Majali further warned of grave consequences from the operation and increasing ‘Israeli’ aggression in the occupied West Bank, which he said risks plunging the region into renewed cycles of violence.

He urged the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities and pressure ‘Israel’ to immediately halt its aggression, ensure the entry of humanitarian aid, and stop dangerous escalation in the region.

Additionally, the spokesperson said there should be unified international efforts to guarantee the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent, sovereign state along the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, and to put an end to the crimes committed against them while holding perpetrators accountable.
