Luxembourg to recognize state of Palestine
Luxembourg intends to recognize the state of Palestine, Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel told a parliamentary commission.
According to Luxembourg media, the final decision is still expected to be taken later in September at the UN General Assembly in New York, in coordination with several other countries like France and Belgium.
Despite Luxembourg’s months-long hesitation to act, the announcement came amid mounting calls by European leaders for ‘Israel’ to end its offensive in Gaza.

According to a report by UN Independent International published Tuesday, United Nations investigators concluded that 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant have “incited the commission of genocide” in Gaza.
Last week, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said, pausing payments to the country and sanctioning what she called “extremist ministers” and violent settlers.
