This is not the first time a disease spreads among the IOF in the enclave.
Hebrew media have reported several outbreaks of illnesses among soldiers during the ‘Israeli’ offensive since 2023.
These included a foot infection linked to prolonged use of military boots, as well as an outbreak of Shigella bacteria that caused a gastrointestinal disease.
Additionally, the rate of suicides among ‘Israeli’ military personnel has been on the rise in 2025, with internal probes linking the surge to “psychological trauma” from the ongoing aggression on Gaza.
The 'Israeli' military's Combat Mental Health Unit has seen a more than 1,000 percent increase in soldiers seeking treatment for trauma, with the number of requests jumping from 270 per year to approximately 3,000, according to a report by The Jerusalem Post.
