Jordan moves to block unsafe Roblox chats
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) in Jordan has announced a decisive move to block chat rooms on the popular online game "Roblox," citing growing concerns over child safety in digital spaces.
According to the regulator, the decision followed reports and studies indicating that open chat features on the platform could expose children to exploitation, harmful content, and unsafe interactions with strangers.

In coordination with the Roblox platform, the TRC confirmed that chat rooms will now be inaccessible to users inside Jordan. Roblox has also pledged to take additional steps to ensure the removal of offensive or inappropriate content.
“This measure is part of a wider strategy to protect young people in the digital environment,” the commission said.
The government urged families and institutions alike to step up awareness campaigns and report any online material that could endanger children’s well-being.
