'Israel' orders mass expulsion of 1 million Palestinians from Gaza City

'Israel' has directed close to one million Palestinians to leave Gaza City, issuing mass expulsion orders ahead of a planned ground operation aimed at seizing control of the besieged enclave’s largest urban center.

On Tuesday, residents were instructed to move south to al-Mawasi, a narrow coastal strip within Khan Younis that makes up just three percent of Gaza. Already overwhelmed with hundreds of thousands of displaced people, the area is now expected to absorb another massive wave of civilians.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) labeled al-Mawasi a “humanitarian zone,” though it has repeatedly struck the area, including as recently as Monday.

The evacuation order comes as 'Israel’s' bombardment of Gaza City intensifies, part of a campaign that has stretched on for nearly a month. 'Israel' has openly declared its intention to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, beginning with the capture of Gaza City.

Shortly after sunrise Tuesday, an airstrike hit a house in al-Shati refugee camp, killing members of the Hosary family in what local media described as a “massacre.” Rescue workers say at least 25 people remain trapped beneath the rubble.

“There are people crying out from beneath the rubble, and we lack the heavy equipment needed to rescue them and save lives,” a Palestinian Civil Defence official told Al Araby TV.

In recent days, 'Israeli' jets have also leveled multiple high-rise buildings in Gaza City. Many of these towers had been serving as shelters for displaced families, forcing thousands more into the streets with no access to shelter or supplies.

“The attacks on residential towers in Gaza have displaced dozens of families, many left on the streets without shelter or basic necessities,” said Unrwa, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees. “With humanitarian access severely restricted, the suffering of already displaced persons is only deepening.”
