'Israel’ says it intercepted a Houthi drone from Yemen, shuts down Ramon Airport
The ‘Israeli’ military announced Monday that it had intercepted a drone launched from Yemen following heightened security alerts around Ramon airport in the far south of the occupied Palestinian territories.
Air raid sirens were triggered as the drone intruded into the area, prompting ‘Israeli’ officials to order a full closure of the airspace as a precaution against a potential aerial threat.
Yesterday, a drone launched from Yemen hit the passenger hall at Ramon Airport, injuring five people with shrapnel and leaving three others suffering panic attacks, ‘Israeli’ authorities reported.
Operations at the airport resumed a few hours later, while an investigation was opened into how the drone went undetected, 'Israeli' officials said.
