Hamas responds to Trump’s warning

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued a warning to Hamas over the 20 captives it is holding. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Tell Hamas to IMMEDIATELY give back all 20 Hostages (Not 2 or 5 or 7!), and things will change rapidly. IT WILL END!”

In response, Hamas reiterated that it had already agreed on August 18 to a proposal presented by mediators, which forms the basis of a potential comprehensive exchange deal. The group emphasized that 'Israel' has not yet responded to the offer.

Hamas stated that it is ready for a full-scale agreement that would see all 'Israeli' captives released in exchange for a mutually agreed number of Palestinian prisoners held by 'Israel'.

The proposal also aims to achieve a ceasefire, the withdrawal of 'Israeli' forces, and the resumption of reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

The movement accused 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of blocking the negotiations, claiming that he seeks a “war without end” rather than a captive exchange and ceasefire.
