Jordan army foils three drug smuggling attempts with balloons

The Eastern Military Command of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) today, Wednesday, at dawn, thwarted three attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics into the kingdom. The smuggling attempts used balloons guided by primitive devices.

Details of the Operation

Border guards, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, spotted the balloons in different locations. The balloons were shot down, and their contents were seized inside Jordanian territory. The seized narcotics were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal action, according to the statement by the JAF.
