Another ‘Israeli’ soldier has committed suicide, according to Hebrew media reports. He was found dead in his home in the settlement of Ma'alot-Tarshiha, north ‘Israel’.

“Following the incident, an investigation by the military police was opened, upon completion of which the findings will be forwarded to the military attorney's office for examination,” an ‘Israeli’ military spokesman said, cited by Yedioth Ahronoth.

He is identified as Sgt. 1st Class (Reserve) Eitan Kupferman, according to Hebrew Telegram channels who also published his photo, as news outlets in ‘Israel’ are not permitted to share this type of information unless they are cleared by the ‘Israeli’ Military Censor.

There has been a significant rise in suicides among ‘Israeli’ military personnel in 2025, with internal military probes linking the rise directly to the “psychological trauma” of the ongoing aggression on Gaza.

As of mid-2025, the ‘Israeli’ military officially disclosed that 16 soldiers had died by suicide, a figure that includes seven reservists, eight active-duty soldiers, and one career soldier.

This official number, released in a rare mid-year disclosure, exists alongside conflicting reports from ‘Israeli’ media outlets that cite higher figures, ranging from 17 to 21 deaths in the first half of the year.
