'Israel' on high alert as Gaza-bound flotilla approaches
'Israeli' forces have raised their state of alert ahead of the arrival of a large maritime flotilla aiming to break the blockade on Gaza, according to a report by the Hebrew daily Israel Hayom.
The paper revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a security meeting to outline strategies and steps to deal with the flotilla and ensure the naval blockade on Gaza is not breached.
Security concerns over flotilla size
An 'Israeli' security source told the outlet that “special preparations are needed” due to the unusually large number of vessels involved, describing it as both a logistical and security challenge for the navy and special forces.
Firm stance: interception and prevention
The source stressed that “none of the boats will be allowed to reach Gaza.”
The plan reportedly includes intercepting all vessels in 'Israeli' territorial waters before they can approach the enclave’s shores.
This move reflects 'Israel’s' longstanding strict policy against attempts to break the naval blockade imposed on Gaza.
