Stable summer wither with cooler nights expected in Jordan in September
As September begins, Jordanians can expect a continuation of moderate summer weather during the day. However, the regional weather service ArabiaWeather is warning of a noticeable change at night, with conditions turning cooler and requiring a light jacket, especially in mountainous and eastern plains areas.
Mild Daytime Temperatures
According to ArabiaWeather, temperatures during the first week of September will remain at or slightly below their normal seasonal averages. The weather will be mildly hot in most parts of the kingdom, while remaining pleasant and mild on the highest mountain peaks. There is a possibility of some low-lying clouds in the early morning, which will add to the sense of comfort and freshness.
Cool Nights Ahead
As the sun sets, the weather will gradually become pleasant in the early evening hours but will turn cooler as the night progresses, particularly in the mountainous regions and eastern plains. Temperatures in the Sharah mountains could drop to around 13 degrees Celsius (55 F). In Amman and other Jordanian cities, lows are expected to range between 16 C and 19 C (61-66 F). These conditions will likely require a light jacket, especially during the early morning hours.
Active Northwesterly Winds
The weather report noted that moderate northwesterly winds will continue to be active daily in the afternoon and evening. Gusts could exceed 50 km/h at times, kicking up dust and sand in desert and open areas, particularly in the eastern parts of the kingdom.
However, these winds will also help to moderate the heat, especially in the western and mountainous regions. The report also indicated that humidity levels will rise at night, with low clouds possibly forming and a chance of fog over some high peaks in northern Jordan.
