Hebrew media outlets reported Saturday that an 'Israeli' strike in northern Gaza may have targeted Abu Obaida, the masked spokesman for Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades.

The reports followed a joint statement from the 'Israeli' military and the Shin Bet security agency confirming that a “key Hamas terrorist” had been struck in Gaza City.

The statement did not name the target but said the operation used “precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and intelligence” to minimize civilian casualties.

A senior 'Israeli' official stated to 'Israeli' Channel 12 that: “If he was there, there is no chance he would have survived the assassination attempt this time.”

It added that the initial intelligence on his location was received last night, and at 5:30 p.m. a window of opportunity opened.

No official statement has been made yet.

However, security forces of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas have cautioned the public against recent 'Israeli' claims suggesting that Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for Hamas’s armed wing, had been assassinated in Gaza.

According to the resistance, these rumors are part of a deliberate 'Israeli' campaign designed to serve intelligence and psychological objectives.

The resistance warned that such misinformation is part of a broader psychological warfare effort intended to destabilize internal morale and create confusion within Gaza.
