One ‘Israeli’ soldier dead, 11 injured as Hamas targets armored vehicle in Gaza

Hebrew media reported Saturday that Palestinian resistance fighters carried out an ambush in Gaza, detonating a powerful explosive device against a “Namer” armored personnel carrier, killing one ‘Israeli’ soldiers, and injuring 11 others.

According to the reports, the blast occurred in a densely populated neighborhood of Gaza, where the resistance had planted the device and detonated it as the vehicle passed.

The “Namer” is considered among the most heavily fortified armored personnel carriers in the world, making the incident a notable indication of the resistance’s growing battlefield capabilities.

All soldiers inside the vehicle were injured, with rescue teams and helicopters deployed to evacuate them to hospitals inside the occupied territories.

The attack comes amid ongoing heavy ground battles in Gaza, as resistance factions continue to inflict losses on the ‘Israeli’ military through ambushes and explosive devices, despite the prolonged war.

Earlier, Hebrew media reported that Hamas launched an ambush on 'Israeli' forces in Gaza Friday night in the east of Gaza City, specifically in the Zeitoun neighborhood, sparking intense clashes. The attack involved sudden gunfire, reinforcements, and soldier evacuations.

Reports suggest four 'Israeli' soldiers were captured as the military imposed a gag order on the incident and the Qassam Bridages, the military wing of Hamas, issued a statement on their official Telegram channel stating: "We remind those who forget, death or capture."

According to 'Israeli' media, preliminary figures from the Zeitoun ambush indicate one soldier was killed and 11 others injured. 

'Israeli' outlets described the incident in Zeitoun as one of the most serious events since October 7, 2023.
