Houthi group confirms assassination of prime minister

The Houthi movement announced in an official statement that its Prime Minister, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahawi, along with several accompanying ministers, was assassinated.

According to the group’s statement, the attack occurred on Thursday in an airstrike carried out by 'Israeli' forces targeting the officials during a routine government workshop.

The Houthis confirmed that government institutions will continue providing services to the Yemeni people and will remain fully operational despite the attack.

‘Israeli’ army had confirmed that its airstrikes on Yemen on Thursday targeted senior Houthi leadership, including the group’s chief of staff and defense minister. The strikes, described as among the most intense to date, were based on “precise intelligence” about what they called a "secret meeting of top Houthi officials."

The army said the operation aimed to inflict maximum damage on the group’s command structure and labeled the Houthis as a “terrorist” organization.
