'Israeli' army admits targeting top Houthi leaders in Yemen airstrikes
The 'Israeli' army confirmed Friday that its airstrikes on Yemen a day earlier were part of an assassination attempt against senior Houthi leadership, including the group’s chief of staff and defense minister.
The admission sheds light on the nature of the latest attacks, described as among the most intense yet, and clarifies that the strikes were aimed at high-level political and military figures rather than random targets.

According to the statement, the strikes were launched after receiving “precise intelligence” about a secret meeting involving senior Houthi leaders. The army said its objective was to inflict maximum damage on the group’s command structure.
Targeting the top leadership
The statement named the Houthi chief of staff and defense minister as the primary targets, labeling the group as “terrorist.” The announcement marks a rare and direct acknowledgment of an attempt to eliminate the movement’s top military leadership.
Despite the admission, the fate of the targeted leaders remains unclear. The Houthis have not issued any official comment confirming or denying the reports, leaving questions over whether the strikes succeeded in eliminating their intended targets.
