Sweida, other provinces’ parliamentary elections in Syria postponed over "security challenges"

Syria’s High Electoral Committee has decided to postpone voting in the provinces of Sweida, Raqqa, and Hasakah due to ongoing security challenges, local media reported on Saturday.

According to Televesion Suriya, the committee emphasized that “the allocated seats for these provinces will be preserved until elections can be held at the earliest possible date.”

Parliamentary elections across Syria are scheduled to take place between September 15 and 20.
