Drone carrying drugs shot down by Jordanian army near northern border

A military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army announced on Monday that the Jordanian Northern Command had thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics using a drone along its northern border.

The source stated that the Border Guard forces detected and tracked the drone before engaging it according to the rules of engagement, successfully dropping its payload inside Jordanian territory. The seized materials were then handed over to the relevant authorities.

The source affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces continue to operate with strength and determination to prevent such substances from reaching Jordanian citizens and to protect national security.
