'Israeli' soldier killed in Gaza during clash with Palestinian fighters

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced on Wednesday that one of its soldiers was killed in the Gaza Strip during a confrontation with Palestinian resistance fighters.

According to the IOF, the Palestinian fighters emerged from a tunnel opening in the area in an attempt to capture the soldier, who was operating a military bulldozer. The IOF stated that the soldier resisted the abduction attempt, which resulted in his death.

Late last month, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for a “special military operation” in Gaza. In a brief statement, the brigades said their fighters successfully targeted an 'Israeli' D9 bulldozer with a powerful explosive device known as a “Shawaz.”
