VIDEO: Under Royal directives, Jordan intensifies support for Syria’s wildfire response

Under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Jordan has expanded its support for Syria’s wildfire crisis by deploying specialized Civil Defense firefighting teams and military aircraft to help contain the growing blazes in Latakia and other affected areas.

The Public Security Directorate confirmed on Sunday that Civil Defense teams were sent to Syria, equipped with modern vehicles and tools to ensure high efficiency in the field. The deployment reflects Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian commitment to neighboring countries in times of disaster.

Separately, the Jordanian Armed Forces dispatched two Black Hawk helicopters from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, each outfitted with specialized crews and advanced equipment, to assist in controlling fire hotspots and preventing further spread across forests, plains, and even residential areas. The fires were reportedly triggered by a combination of soaring temperatures and the detonation of war remnants.

The Jordanian Armed Forces emphasized that this mission aligns with their longstanding humanitarian role and reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to Arab solidarity and mutual aid during crises.

In response, the Syrian government expressed its gratitude to Jordan for the swift assistance, praising the humanitarian leadership of King Abdullah II. Syrian officials also acknowledged Jordan’s extensive experience in firefighting, both domestically and internationally, highlighting its consistent role in supporting friendly and brotherly nations during emergencies.
