'Israeli' strike kills five, including children, at Gaza school shelter
Five Palestinians, including children, were killed and others wounded on Wednesday after an 'Israeli' drone strike targeted a tent sheltering displaced civilians at a school in western Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
Medical and local sources revealed that the drone strike hit a tent set up in the schoolyard, which was housing dozens of displaced individuals. The attack resulted in five fatalities, among them children, and left several others injured with varying degrees of severity.
The wounded were transferred to nearby hospitals under extremely difficult medical conditions, as the ongoing blockade and bombardment continue to overwhelm Gaza's health system.
This latest attack is part of an intensifying wave of 'Israeli' assaults targeting civilians in Gaza, including supposed safe zones where many have fled in search of refuge from bombardments.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage among Palestinians, who are calling on the international community to take urgent action to protect civilians and halt 'Israeli' violations.
Palestinian resistance factions condemned the strike, saying that the targeting of displaced civilians in shelters reveals the “brutality of the occupation and its intent to eliminate the Palestinian people.”
They called for intensified resistance in response to the continuing attacks.
Israeli Occupation’s military operations in Gaza persist, resulting in the killing and injury of thousands of civilians, as international organizations warn of a worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged strip.
