Queen Rania of Jordan released a heartfelt video on Tuesday to mark the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, paying tribute to Palestinian and Lebanese children affected by the Israeli Occupation's attacks.

In a post shared on Instagram, the Queen commemorated the day — originally established by the UN in 1982 in response to the devastating toll of "Israeli" aggression on young lives in Palestine and Lebanon.

“Today, history repeats itself,” the Queen's caption read, alongside scenes of children enduring the ongoing violence in Gaza and southern Lebanon.

- International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression -

Observed annually on June 4, the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression was established by the UN in response to the devastating impact of war on young lives. The day was proclaimed on Aug. 19, 1982, during the UN General Assembly’s 7th emergency special session, which was convened to address the situation in Palestine.

The decision followed global outrage over the large number of Palestinian and Lebanese children who were killed or injured during "Israel’s" military operations in Lebanon earlier that year. Deeply shocked by the suffering inflicted on children, the General Assembly decided to set aside June 4 as a day to honor their memory and to reaffirm the international community’s duty to safeguard children from the horrors of conflict.

Although the day initially focused on the 1982 Lebanon War, it has since evolved into a broader observance that draws attention to the suffering of children in all regions affected by violence, war, and occupation.
