Jordan announces Eid al-Adha on June 6

Jordan’s Iftaa’ Department announced that Wednesday, May 28, will be the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446. Accordingly, the first day of Eid al-Adha will fall on Friday, June 6.

The announcement came after the crescent moon was sighted on Tuesday evening, confirming the start of the Islamic month in which Hajj takes place.

Arafat Day, which precedes Eid and marks the climax of the Hajj pilgrimage, will be observed on Thursday, June 5.

Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates all announced Eid al-Adha will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025. 

Brunei will observe the eid on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
