The cabinet has approved plans to establish an environmental park in the governorate of Tafileh in south Jordan.

The “Aabel park” will enhance environmental protections and preserve the governorate’s natural resources, government spokesperson Mohammad al-Momani said in a press conference following the cabinet meeting held in Tafileh.

The total cost of the project is estimated at JD 660,000. According to Momani, the decision is part of broader efforts to create recreational and educational spaces that promote environmental awareness and boost domestic tourism.

Momani expressed confidence that the Aabel Environmental Park will attract visitors, support the national economy, create job opportunities, and strengthen Tafileh’s position as a key ecotourism destination in the Kingdom.
