Islamic countries announce Eid al-Adha dates

Jordan’s Iftaa’ Department announced that Wednesday, May 28, will be the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446. Accordingly, the first day of Eid al-Adha will fall on Friday, June 6.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates announced that Wednesday, May 28, 2025, will mark the beginning of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, after the crescent moon was sighted on Tuesday evening. Accordingly, Eid al-Adha will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Indonesia officially announced that Wednesday, May 28, 2025, will mark the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah, which means Eid al-Adha is set to be observed on Friday, June 6.

Malaysia, meanwhile, declared that Wednesday, May 28, will be the 30th and final day of Dhu al-Qi'dah, as the crescent moon was not sighted.

Therefore, Thursday, May 29, will be the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah, and Eid al-Adha will fall on Saturday, June 7 for Malaysia.

Brunei announced that the crescent moon marking the start of Dhu al-Hijjah was not sighted on Tuesday evening, thus confirming that Eid al-Adha will be observed on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
