The United States has obtained fresh intelligence indicating that “Israel” is taking steps to potentially launch a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, even as the Trump administration pursues a diplomatic agreement with Tehran, according to multiple US officials familiar with the matter cited by CNN.

While officials stress that no final decision appears to have been made by “Israeli” leadership, they acknowledge a growing debate within the US government regarding the likelihood of such a strike. Some remain skeptical, but others believe the risk has escalated notably in recent months.

“The chances of an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear infrastructure have risen considerably,” said one individual familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments. “If a deal brokered by Trump fails to fully address Iran’s uranium stockpile, the probability of “Israeli” military action increases.”

The concern is driven by a combination of factors, including both public and private statements from “Israeli” officials hinting at military action, as well as intercepted communications and “Israeli” military movements that suggest possible preparations are underway, sources told CNN.

Among the activities observed are the repositioning of air munitions and the completion of a major air exercise, two sources said.

An “Israeli” source told CNN that Israel is prepared to act unilaterally if the US finalizes what it views as an unacceptable deal with Iran.

“If Israel believes Trump is heading toward a ‘bad deal,’ they may strike preemptively in hopes of derailing it,” said another individual familiar with the intelligence.

“They’ve been very clear about this — both publicly and behind closed doors.”

A US intelligence report from February, previously reported by CNN, indicated that “Israel” could employ either military aircraft or long-range missiles, capitalizing on weaknesses in Iran’s air defense systems.

However, the same report noted that such strikes would likely have only a limited impact on Iran’s nuclear capabilities and would not serve as a long-term solution.
