'Israel' open to 'ending the fighting' if Gaza deal includes disarmament: 'Israeli' PM's office
'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office has announced, for the first time in months, the possibility that ongoing negotiations in Doha could lead to an agreement that would end the war in Gaza.
In a statement released Sunday, the office confirmed that talks are continuing based on the Witkoff framework — a proposed roadmap that includes a ceasefire, the release of all captives, the deportation of Hamas members, and the disarmament of the Gaza Strip.
“Even at this hour, the negotiating team in Doha is working to exhaust every chance of reaching a deal,” the statement said, “whether according to the Witkoff framework or as part of an end to the fighting.”
The acknowledgment marks a shift in tone from previous communications, raising cautious hopes for a potential breakthrough in the prolonged conflict.
