'Israeli' army announces interception of missile fired from Yemen

'Israeli' army announced early Sunday that it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen.

The Houthi militants claimed to have fired two ballistic missiles targeting Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv.

In a statement, the 'Israeli' military said, "A missile fired from Yemen was intercepted, triggering alarms in several areas across the country."

Later, the Houthis in Yemen announced the launch of two ballistic missiles toward Ben Gurion airport.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said Sunday, "The missile force of the Yemeni armed forces carried out a qualitative military operation targeting Lod airport, known in Israel as Ben Gurion airport, with two ballistic missiles. The operation achieved its objective." He added that the attacks will continue "until the aggression on Gaza stops and the siege is lifted."

Since October 7 the Houthis have launched dozens of missile and drone attacks on 'Israel', stating these actions are in support of the people of Gaza.

On Friday, the 'Israeli' army announced airstrikes on the ports of Hodeidah and Al-Salif, saying it targeted and destroyed "terrorist infrastructure" belonging to the Iran-backed Houthis. 'Israel' also threatened to target Houthi leadership if attacks persist.

The Houthi-affiliated Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that "the repeated Zionist aggression on Yemeni ports will be met with a painful response," according to the rebel-run Saba News Agency.
