Scorching heat grips Jordan as temperatures soar
Jordan is experiencing a significant rise in temperatures on Saturday, with readings exceeding seasonal averages by 9 to 11°C, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
The weather is expected to be hot, dry, and dusty across most regions, with extremely high temperatures forecast for the desert areas, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds will be present, and moderate southeasterly winds are expected.
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of reduced visibility due to dust, particularly in desert regions and on external roads.
A gradual retreat of the hot air mass is expected starting Sunday, leading to a slight drop in temperatures. Conditions will remain relatively hot, dry, and dusty across the kingdom, with continued intense heat in the eastern desert, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will shift to moderate northwesterlies, occasionally becoming active.
By Monday, temperatures are forecast to drop further, bringing warm weather to most areas and continued heat in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High clouds will persist, with moderate northwesterly winds expected.
On Tuesday, a slight additional dip in temperatures is anticipated, with moderate weather prevailing in most regions. Conditions will remain relatively hot in the desert, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
