Jordan condemns 'Israeli' strike on Gaza hospital, calls for immediate ceasefire

Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned Israeli Occupation’s targeting of the European Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza, which has been rendered completely out of service.

The ministry described the attack as a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Convention on the protection of civilians during wartime.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah reiterated the Kingdom’s outright rejection and firm condemnation of Israeli Occupation’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza and the continued systematic targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure. He also denounced the destruction of vital facilities that provide essential services to Gazans, as well as Israeli Occupation’s use of starvation and siege as tools to forcibly displace Palestinians.

Qudah warned of the serious consequences of Israeli Occupation’s continued violations in Gaza and the West Bank, and their impact on regional security and stability.

He called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by pressuring Israeli Occupation to immediately halt its aggression on Gaza, open humanitarian corridors, and uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital — the only path, he stressed, toward a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
