New medical evacuation brings Gaza children with cancer to Jordan
The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) - the Arab Army carried out a new medical evacuation on Wednesday, transferring four children with cancer from Gaza to Jordan, along with 12 accompanying family members.
This is the second group evacuated under the Jordanian Medical Corridor Initiative, which was launched in early March to treat 2,000 sick children from Gaza in Jordan.
The children will receive specialized care at the King Hussein Cancer Center, as part of Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support Palestinians in Gaza.
The group was received at the King Hussein Bridge in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. From there, they were flown by Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft to Marka Airport and then transferred to the cancer center.
The first group included 29 children and 44 relatives, who were evacuated by land and air in cooperation with the World Health Organization. Seventeen children from that group, along with their families, have since returned to Gaza after completing treatment at Jordanian public and private hospitals.
This initiative is part of a series of medical, humanitarian, and relief efforts led by the Jordanian Armed Forces to support the people of Gaza amid worsening health and humanitarian conditions.
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to continuing medical and humanitarian missions in support of the Palestinian people, guided by values of duty, solidarity, and compassion.
Families of the children expressed deep gratitude to the Jordanian Armed Forces, thanking the leadership and people of Jordan for their continued support of Palestinians.
