"Jordan provided 60% of aid reaching Gaza, " says Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization
Hussein Al-Shebli, Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), affirmed the integration of Jordanian efforts to aid the Gaza Strip through the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
In an interview with Roya's Nabd Al-Balad program, Shebli stated that the operation aims to urgently meet the needs of Gaza, with a focus on providing essential supplies such as medicine and infant formula.
He pointed out that Jordan has been carrying out comprehensive relief operations since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza, sending 53 planes loaded with aid through the Rafah Border Crossing and dispatching 158 aid convoys carrying around 6,400 trucks.
He explained that the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF), along with allied and friendly nations, carried out 391 airdrop operations to deliver aid to the Strip.
Shebli emphasized that these operations marked a new and significant step in the field of humanitarian relief, as Jordan succeeded in asserting its will and working diligently to deliver aid.
Regarding coordination with international organizations, he noted that the JHCO has worked closely with UN agencies to identify the urgent needs of Gaza's residents, stating that Jordan has provided 60 percent of the aid that has reached the Strip.
He further mentioned that 100 trucks have been sent daily since the ceasefire was announced, including more than 41,000 tents and 49,200 tarps to northern Gaza.
He added that efforts to send aid are still ongoing, with continued coordination with relevant international organizations to meet the future needs of the people in Gaza.
