Arab Army foils drone smuggling, infiltration attempts

The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) - the Arab Army, foiled two separate infiltration and drug smuggling attempts using a drone along Jordan’s eastern border on Friday evening, officials confirmed.

A military source from the Arab Army stated: "Border guard forces in the Eastern Military Region, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle crystal meth using a drone that attempted to cross the border."

The source explained that after detecting and tracking the drone, engagement protocols were followed, leading to the interception and seizure of its cargo inside Jordanian territory.

Additionally, three Syrian nationals attempting to cross into Jordan illegally were apprehended. They, along with the seized contraband, have been transferred to the relevant authorities.

The source reaffirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces remain committed to deploying all necessary resources and capabilities to prevent any form of smuggling or infiltration, ensuring the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
