Hamas released a statement emphasizing that the release of US-'Israeli' soldier Edan Alexander followed significant talks in which the movement demonstrated flexibility and goodwill.

"This release proves that serious, responsible negotiations yield results," the statement said. "Continuing aggression only prolongs the suffering and increases the risk of death for captives."

The movement reiterated its readiness to begin comprehensive negotiations aimed at a sustainable ceasefire, which would include the withdrawal of 'sraeli' forces, the lifting of the blockade, a captive exchange, and the reconstruction of Gaza.

Hamas also called on US President Donald Trump to continue advocating for an end to the "brutal" war waged by "war criminal" Netanyahu against the people of Gaza, including innocent women and children.

The release of Alexander comes amid growing international pressure for a ceasefire, as the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates.
