Hot, dry, and dusty weather swept across much of Jordan on Wednesday as the impact of a deepening Khamsin low-pressure system intensified, bringing significant dust concentrations and elevated temperatures – per ArabiaWeather.

The heatwave was compounded by the arrival of a hot air mass moving toward the Kingdom, pushing temperatures well above seasonal averages. Amman recorded its highest temperature since last summer, reaching 35°C at Marka Airport.

The dusty system is expected to move eastward by evening, though its effects will linger into late Wednesday night. Conditions will remain warm and slightly dusty, with moderate westerly winds and the presence of mid- and high-level clouds.

According to ArabiaWeather, the Khamsin low and the accompanying hot air mass are expected to subside on Thursday. As a result, temperatures will drop noticeably but remain 4–6°C above average.

Warm to hot conditions will prevail during the afternoon, especially in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will shift from west to northwest, becoming moderate but picking up in strength in southern and eastern regions, stirring up varying levels of dust.

By Thursday night, temperatures will continue to fall, with cool and pleasant conditions in the evening, turning chilly by late night and early morning. Low-level clouds are also expected to form.

Heading into the weekend, Jordan is forecast to be affected by a milder air mass that will further lower temperatures, returning them to seasonal norms. Pleasant to mild spring conditions are expected during the day, with colder nights — prompting a return to warm clothing for the evening and early morning hours.
