Jordan army issues statement after drone crashes in Madaba

The Jordanian Armed Forces said that an unidentified drone entered Jordanian airspace and crashed over the Ma'in area in Madaba Governorate.

The statement said debris from the drone sparked a fire in the forested area where it fell.

No injuries were reported. Specialized teams from the Jordanian Armed Forces and Civil Defense extinguished the fire and began inspecting the crash site.

The Armed Forces urged citizens to stay away from the area and to report any suspicious objects to allow field teams to respond safely. The public was also reminded to rely only on official sources for information.
