The Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza reported that the ambulance crew targeted by 'Israeli' forces was operating in a designated safe zone, stressing that 'Israeli' forces are deliberately attacking emergency and civil defense teams without verification.

The Red Crescent said the targeting of paramedics in Rafah constitutes a full-fledged crime under international law.

This statement follows the release of video footage documenting the moment the medics were struck in Rafah. The spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense confirmed that the video supports the initial account of the incident, stating that 'Israeli' forces deliberately ambushed the rescue workers.

He added that Israeli Occupation must be held accountable for its crimes, which he described as unprecedented in modern history, calling for the formation of an international investigative committee to uncover the details surrounding the attack on emergency teams in Rafah.

Despite the direct targeting, civil defense crews in Gaza affirmed their commitment to continuing their humanitarian mission.

Meanwhile, Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, said the situation in Gaza is not a war but a genocide. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, she emphasized the complete absence of protection for Palestinian lives.

Albanese added that the Israeli Occupation army faces no restrictions on its actions, claiming that evidence of the medics' killing in Rafah has been concealed. She criticized Western leaders for prioritizing Benjamin Netanyahu's protection over international law or Palestinian lives, accusing them of "rolling out the red carpet" for him while ignoring the ongoing atrocities.
