Jordan climbs to 62nd in overall FIFA rankings, 9th in Asia

The Jordanian national football team has moved up two spots to 62nd in the latest FIFA rankings released Thursday.

The ranking boost follows strong performances in the World Cup qualifiers, where Jordan secured a 3-1 victory over Palestine and a 1-1 draw against South Korea.

With 1,389.15 points, Jordan now ranks ninth in Asia and remains in contention for its first-ever World Cup qualification. The team currently sits second in Group B with 13 points, trailing South Korea (16 points) and ahead of Iraq (12 points). The top two teams from each group qualify directly for the World Cup, while the third and fourth-placed teams advance to the playoffs.

Jordan faces decisive matches against Oman and Iraq in June, which will determine its path to the tournament.
