Authorities to implement traffic plan ahead of Eid al-Fitr
The Highway Patrol Department at the Public Security Directorate have announced the implementation of a “flexible traffic plan” for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, in line with traffic developments and alongside increased presence at Eid prayer locations to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The plan aims to provide a safe traffic environment for citizens, facilitating their movements for prayers, shopping, and fulfilling various needs, while ensuring compliance with designated parking areas and avoiding random and double parking that obstructs traffic – the statement by the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said.
Traffic patrols are already deployed around the clock to clear roads of congestion and remove any obstacles affecting traffic flow. This includes handling reverse traffic activity at the end of the holiday.
The Public Security Directorate urged drivers to adhere to traffic rules, avoid excessive speeds and dangerous violations, and refrain from distractions while driving. They also assured the public of full readiness to provide assistance 24/7 via the unified emergency number 911.
