Preparations underway for major ground offensive, occupation of Gaza: Media
'Israeli' newspaper Haaretz has revealed that preparations are in full swing for the implementation of the Chief of Staff’s grand strategy to launch a large-scale ground offensive on the Gaza Strip.
The plan reportedly includes the mobilization of military divisions, including reserve forces.
According to security sources in Tel Aviv cited by Haaretz, while 'Israel' is still keeping the door open for a potential deal to secure the release of some captives, mounting government pressures are steering the situation toward further escalation and an expansion of hostilities.
The report highlights that both the 'Israeli' government and military are concealing their true intentions for now. However, ongoing military preparations strongly indicate a broader goal—the full occupation of Gaza—despite the uncertainty surrounding ongoing negotiations.
Furthermore, the newspaper noted that newly appointed Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir believes his military strategy could achieve Israel’s stated war objective: the complete eradication of Hamas.
The report signals a potentially dangerous escalation in the conflict, as political and military agendas align toward a full-scale offensive, raising concerns over the future of Gaza and its civilian population.
