Jordan to see unusual warmth through weekend
Jordan will be affected by a warm air mass starting Tuesday, intensifying on Wednesday and Thursday and extending through the weekend. This shift will bring a noticeable rise in temperatures, marking a stark contrast to previous days – per ArabiaWeather.
Temperature rise begins Tuesday
As the warm air mass approaches on Tuesday, temperatures across Jordan will climb 3-5°C above the seasonal average. The weather will be mild and sunny in most areas, while the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will experience warmer conditions. Winds will be light and variable in the morning, shifting to a southeasterly direction by midday and afternoon.
During the night (Tuesday into Wednesday), nighttime temperatures will also rise compared to previous nights. The weather will be generally cool, particularly in late-night hours and over high-altitude regions and eastern plains.
Warm air mass intensifies Wednesday and Thursday
The warm air mass is a result of a cold air mass pushing toward North Africa. By Wednesday and Thursday, its impact on Jordan will strengthen, leading to an additional 6-8°C increase in temperatures above the seasonal average.
The weather will be mild in most areas, leaning toward warm in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Daytime highs will range between the low and mid-20s°C in Amman and other major cities, while temperatures in the Jordan Valley will reach the low 30s°C. Winds will be light to moderate from the southeast, occasionally picking up in some areas, which may lead to increased dust levels, particularly in the afternoon.
At night, temperatures will continue to rise, making for pleasant evening conditions before cooling to relatively chilly levels in the late-night and early morning hours, especially in high-altitude regions.
Friday and Saturday
By Friday and Saturday, coinciding with the midpoint of Ramadan, warm air currents will continue to flow into Jordan, pushing temperatures 10-12°C above the seasonal average. The weather will be warm across most regions and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and eastern desert areas.
Daytime highs in eastern Amman will approach the upper 20s°C, while temperatures in the Jordan Valley and desert areas will be significantly higher. Winds will remain moderate from the southeast, occasionally strengthening and stirring up dust in eastern and desert regions.
