Hamas issues statement on developments related to ceasefire agreement
A delegation from Hamas, led by Mohammed Darwish, head of the movement's leadership council, met with Major General Hassan Rashad, head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service, in Cairo.
The meeting addressed key issues related to the ceasefire agreement and prisoner exchange, as outlined in a statement issued by Hamas.
The delegation expressed its appreciation for Egypt’s efforts to counter displacement plans and reaffirmed its support for the decisions made at the Arab Summit, particularly the Gaza Reconstruction Plan.
The Hamas delegation stressed the importance of fully adhering to the terms of the ceasefire agreement and called for immediate negotiations on the next phase. This includes the opening of border crossings and the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Additionally, the delegation announced its approval for forming a community support committee, made up of independent national figures, to manage Gaza until general Palestinian elections take place.
