Will Jordanian government delay working hours due to weather conditions?

As Jordan experiences severe weather conditions, citizens are wondering whether the government will decide to delay working hours for public institutions and government offices on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (February 23-25, 2025) to ensure the safety of employees and the public.

As of now, no official announcement has been made regarding work schedules. However, Minister of Education Dr. Azmi Mahafzah has already announced a delay in school hours for the same period due to the expected weather conditions.

School schedule adjustments:

Public schools (single-shift): Classes start at 10:00 AM, with 45-minute lessons.
Public schools (double-shift):

• Morning shift: Starts at 10:00 AM, with 40-minute lessons.
• Afternoon shift: Starts at 2:00 PM, with 40-minute lessons.

Private schools, UNRWA schools, and military schools: Classes start at 10:00 AM, with schedules remaining unchanged.

The education ministry emphasized that these adjustments aim to ensure a safe environment for students and teachers during the harsh weather conditions.
