Jordan, Kazakhstan strengthen ties with key agreements

Jordan and Kazakhstan signed multiple agreements to boost cooperation in investment, energy, trade, media, and technology, witnessed by King Abdullah II and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Key Agreements:

  • Investment & Economy: Jordan’s Ministry of Investment partnered with Kazakhstan’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, alongside MoUs on trade and industrial cooperation.
  • Energy & Environment: MoUs on peaceful nuclear energy, uranium mining, and environmental protection.
  • Media & Digital Economy: Agreements between Jordanian and Kazakh media outlets and MoUs on digital development.
  • Culture & Agriculture: Executive Culture Programme (2025-2027) and veterinary cooperation.
  • Special Economic Zones & Cities: Agreements on economic zones and a sister-city action plan between Amman and Astana.

Trade & Business:

  • Trade (Jan-Nov 2024): Imports at $1.2M, exports at $1.1M.
  • Business Forum (Sept. 2024): Deals in agriculture, industry, green tech, and IT.
  • Intergovernmental Committee (Dec. 2024): Focus on trade, investment, tourism, and technology.
