King Abdullah meets US President at White House

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stated that His Majesty King Abdullah II presented Jordan's position to US President Donald Trump regarding the pursuit of a just and comprehensive peace and the rejection of the displacement of Palestinians.

Safadi continued, "We told Trump that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, and Jordan belongs to the Jordanians."

He added, "We have our vision, and Trump has his, but we believe it is possible to rebuild Gaza without displacing its people."

Safadi affirmed that Jordan is working on formulating an Arab plan aimed at rebuilding Gaza without forcing its residents to leave.

He added that the priority is to protect Jordan and Jordanians, which was the foundation of the discussion with President Trump.

The minister pointed out that comprehensive peace in the region can only be achieved through the implementation of the two-state solution, emphasizing that Jordan continues to support the people of Gaza by providing aid and access to medical treatment in the Kingdom.

He continued, "Arab coordination is capable of presenting an alternative plan to Trump’s and ending the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza."

King Abdullah II and the Crown Prince Al Hussein have left the White House after the meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump continued, "I understand the real estate sector, and the Palestinians will love what we will offer them."

He emphasized in his remarks, "I do not threaten Jordan with financial aid in exchange for anything."

He said, "We will not buy Gaza; rather, we will own it to rehabilitate it."

He noted, "Gaza will be a jewel and one of the most important assets, and it will bring peace to the Middle East."

Trump responded to a question about the authority that grants him control over Gaza by saying, "Under American authority."

For his part, US President Donald Trump pointed out that developing Gaza after a long period will create significant job opportunities in the region, contributing to economic improvement.

Trump stated, "We will take control of Gaza and rebuild it," indicating that his plan for Gaza will ensure security and stability for the Middle East, according to his claims.

He affirmed that he does not intend to personally participate in the real estate development of Gaza.

He mentioned that he does not expect Hamas to respect the Saturday deadline for the release of detainees, in his opinion.

Regarding the West Bank, Trump responded to a question about "Israel's" annexation of lands in the West Bank by saying, "It could work."

King Abdullah II told US president Donald Trump: "I will work for the benefit of Jordan, and we will welcome 2,000 Palestinian children from Gaza for treatment."

This initiative comes as part of Jordan's ongoing support for the Palestinian people amid current circumstances.

For his part, US President Donald Trump pointed out that developing Gaza after a long period will create significant job opportunities in the region, contributing to economic improvement.

Additionally, His Majesty the King stated that Egypt is working on developing a strategic plan for cooperation with the new US administration and how to engage with the US President on regional issues.

US President Trump said upon welcoming King Abdullah II, "You are a great man."
