Cold weather, rain expected in Jordan over next four days

The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecasts cold weather across the kingdom over the next four days, with chances of scattered rain in some areas and occasional strong winds.

Tuesday

Temperatures will rise slightly but remain cold in most regions and relatively cool in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Cloud cover will increase at various altitudes, with a chance of light rain showers in northern Jordan and parts of the central-western region in the afternoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest.

At night, temperatures will drop significantly, especially in high-altitude areas, with fog and frost expected in some regions.

Wednesday

Cold conditions will persist with variable cloud cover. By afternoon, an unstable weather system will affect the country, bringing heavier cloud cover and rain showers over northern and central areas. The rainfall is expected to extend later to parts of the southwestern and eastern regions, accompanied at times by thunderstorms and hail.

Winds will be moderate from the west to northwest, occasionally picking up speed.

Thursday

The weather will remain cold and partly cloudy, with a chance of light, scattered rain in northern Jordan during the morning. Winds will be moderate to active from the west to northwest, with occasional strong gusts reaching up to 60 km/h, raising dust, particularly in desert areas.

Friday

A slight rise in temperatures is expected, though conditions will remain cold in most areas and relatively cool in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Winds will be moderate from the east, occasionally becoming active.
