Emergency childbirth: Paramedics deliver baby safely inside car in Amman

Jordan’s traffic police and civil defense teams responded to multiple incidents in the past 24 hours, resulting in 10 injuries—some serious—as well as an emergency childbirth inside a car.

According to a Traffic Department operations officer speaking on the Public Security Radio, a driver was forced to pull over in Jabal Al Nuzha Neighborhood in Amman area in Amman, where a Civil Defense ambulance was also present.

Thanks to swift coordination and professional handling by paramedics, the baby was safely delivered inside the vehicle before both mother and newborn were transported to Queen Alia Hospital.

Traffic authorities urged drivers to exercise caution, particularly with the ongoing rainfall, which increases the risk of skidding and water accumulation on roads. Motorists were also advised to inspect their vehicles before setting out and to follow traffic regulations to ensure safety. The statement encourages the public to call emergency services at 911 whenever needed.
