Jordan will be affected by a “weak” first-degree weather system starting Sunday afternoon, accompanied by a cold and humid air mass – a forecast by ArabiaWeather said.

Cold and rain expected

The weather will remain wintery and cold, with renewed chances of scattered rain showers, particularly in parts of the country. Early morning temperatures will be extremely cold across Jordan, with frost and ice formation possible in high mountain areas and water-accumulated regions. Fog may also develop in some eastern areas, including Queen Alia International Airport.

As the day progresses, temperatures will rise slightly but remain 2-4°C below seasonal averages, keeping conditions generally cold. By the afternoon and evening, cloud cover will increase, with chances of light, localized rain showers in some areas.

More rain

By Sunday evening and night, the impact of the weather system will intensify, leading to further temperature drops and increased cloudiness, especially in northern regions. This will create conditions for scattered rain showers, occasionally extending to central areas, including Amman.

Late at night and into early Monday morning, rainfall is expected to reach parts of eastern Jordan and some southern highlands, with occasional hail in those regions. Winds will remain light and variable.

Cold weather continues Monday

The system will persist on Monday, with temperatures staying 2-4°C below average. The weather will remain cold and partly to mostly cloudy, with intermittent rain expected in northern, central, and eastern regions. Some showers may also reach the southern highlands, where hail could fall over higher peaks, particularly in the morning.

By Monday night, conditions will turn extremely cold and partly cloudy, with continued chances of rain in some areas. Light snow flurries may develop over the Sharah Mountains in southern Jordan, while rainfall is expected to concentrate in eastern regions as the night progresses.
