Authorities arrest gunman after viral video of reckless graduation convoy

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) confirmed that a team has followed up on a widely circulated video showing a convoy of vehicles obstructing traffic as part of a graduation convoy. The footage also captured an individual firing gunshots into the air while moving.

In a statement on Saturday, the PSD announced that investigators had identified the location of the video in Madaba. Authorities have tracked down the vehicles involved, seizing five of them while efforts continue to locate the remaining ones.

The PSD’s media spokesperson added that the individual who fired shots into the air has been identified and arrested, and the firearm used has been confiscated.

Legal and administrative actions will be taken against all violators, and the impounded vehicles will remain in designated holding areas for the legally mandated period – the statement added.
