School start time delayed due to weather in Shobak, Ma’an

The Director of Education for Shobak District, in northwestern Ma’an, has decided to delay school start times on Sunday until 9:00 AM due to expected icy conditions in the morning.

According to ArabiaWeather, nighttime temperatures will reach their lowest levels late Saturday into Sunday as Jordan experiences an Arctic cold front. Temperatures are expected to drop close to freezing across several regions of the country.

Frost formation is expected to begin early Saturday night, intensifying through the night and peaking at dawn and early Sunday morning. The affected areas include the Badia region, high-altitude mountain ranges, and the eastern plains. Dense fog is also expected late at night in Zizya, Queen Alia International Airport, and parts of the Badia.

Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution, particularly on icy roads in the morning.
