US embassy welcomes new Lebanon cabinet, hopes it will implement reform

The US embassy in Beirut welcomed on Saturday the announcement of a new government in Lebanon, which is reeling from a devastating “Israel”-Hezbollah war and years of economic collapse.

"We welcome Prime Minister (Nawaf Salam's) announcement of a proposed cabinet," the embassy said on X.

"The Lebanese people deserve a government that will rebuild Lebanese state institutions, fight corruption, and implement needed reforms" it said, expressing hope the ministerial statement will work towards these goals.
